Here are some friends of 2600 and/or some great places to visit.
• 2600 Magazine The Hacker Quarterly, started in 1987. 2600 is largely reader-supported and internationally distributed. Local meetings began not long after the first issue was published, and it's still going strong.
• Off The Hook A radio show on WBAI 99.5 FM in New York City about computers and telephones, hosted by Emmanuel Goldstein. Recordings of all previous shows are available online.
• Mo'Joe Coffeehouse A great Indianapolis coffee shop, and our former meeting place. With wireless internet access and a friendly, liberal atmosphere, it's our location of choice. They also have great coffee and snacks.
• Chicago 2600 If you live in northern Indiana and can't make it to our Indianapolis meetings for some reason, pay our friends and counterparts a visit up in Chicago. Like us, they have regular meetings.
• Electronic Frontier Foundation The EFF is a sort of "liberation front" for information technology. They describe themselves as "a nonprofit group of passionate people — lawyers, volunteers, and visionaries — working to protect your digital rights."
